Critical Incident Stress Management
Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) is an intervention protocol developed specifically for dealing with traumatic events. The main objective of CISM is to provide crisis intervention during or after a critical incident in order to minimise stress and normalise reactions to the traumatic event.
CISM is both a psychological and educational group process designed to:
- Lessen the impact of the critical incidents
- Accelerate the recovery process
Employers have a Duty of Care under the Health & Safety Act 1989 to provide appropriate support to those who have experienced a critical incident. Should your company, organisation, club, school or college need support in responding to a critical incident please contact Liz on 087 7800 500 for immediate support.
